Description

The city of Corinthia was built among the towering trees of a huge forest and is truly a technological city. Its allure is matched by the backdrop of a majestic mountain which have helped shape the city to what it is today. The climate these mountains brought were of great importance, but they were also influential when it came to architectural designs as the vast majority of buildings mimic the broad slopes and steep peeks of the mountains.   Technology is thriving in Corinthia and it has attracted a lot of attention. New cultures have left their mark not just on the city's history, but also upon the city's identity. What historically was a city of predictability has grown into a multicultural hub and it's this that unites the 34 thousand inhabitants of the city to this day   Visually, the city looks very gothic in nature, just like most places in Ravenfell, with sharp corners of buildings such as monasteries and cathedrals. The roads throughout the city appear to be quite narrow, as to fit more housing in to accompany its huge population. It is a walled metropolis with winding streets and ever-reaching towers that could pierce the sky. At the centre is the Lord's Castle, which mirrors the gothic look of the rest of the city. The most interesting attraction of the city, is the great Twilight Milkbark tree, which soars high above city and can be seen from miles and miles away. It resides on a large hill, called the Milbark Hill, which shows its roots twisting and turning out of the ground, as tall as the biggest houses in the city. The city began from Wood Elves who worshipped the gracious tree as a god, and build a settlement around it, which was eventually taken by the Omarian Empire and eventually taken back by the wood elves with the help of a militia of Omarian Rebels who rejected the Omarian's Expansive ways.   The city holds its place as one of the most populated non-capital cities in the continent and ituses It's strategic position to be one of the most well defended cities in the continent.   Ravenfell now stands as a landmark which attracts many traditional Wood Elves and scholars alike. The city does not thrive off of trade, but the tourist attraction it gains from the might Twilight Milbark tree.

History

The Historical city of Corinthia stands among the huge forets of Ethal Loran, which used to home tribes of Wood Elves before the meteor struck the planet. The humungous tree, named the Twilight Milbark, was worshipped as a god by the elves of these forests. A small tribal settlement was built around the tree, where the elves could worship and tap into the tree's unknown power and learn what mysteries and secrets the tree held. Before any progress could be made, the Omarian Empire had swept through the Peninsula with ease and finally reached the Twilight Milbark. The Imperial Soldiers quickly destroyed the settlement and enslaved or killed the elves. The Empire began to disregard the tree, and were warned by the Elves that the tree was a god and had unearthly powers and could wipe them off the face of the earth. The Empire used the hard wood of the tree to construct a settlement for their own citizens to move into, the elves did not take kindly to this and set up a revolt against their slavers. Over night, the Omarian Empire was quickly ambushed by their own slaves, losing many of their own. Some took sympathy towards the humans and a pact was made, the Umano-Corith pact. This pact agreed their to be peace, and that they would help the elves rebuild their own homes and retake their land.    Quickly, they began to rebuild their home turf, and with the superior technological knowledge of Imperial Engineers, they began to build a more sophisticated home and society. Much of the population in Corinthia to this day is Half-elven or Human due to the pact between the two races and them coming together to build a better society. This happened not too long after the rebellion at Vlandar, which meant that the Omarians had to pull out of the North of Ylandra, as it was coming at a greater cost than they could afford. Contact soon came with the newly formed Vlandar, and relations were made.
