Description
The sprawling city of Letath is the biggest trading hub throughout the continent. Built upon the gracious Uranoth plains, its land is plentiful and those interesting in trade have most definitely heard of this famous city. The Othorn sea connects Letath to the Dominion of Ravenfell and the Kingdom of Eiswelth which find most of their trade from Letath. The city has a main market place, Oster's Plaza, which is the main area for trade and shopping. The local businesses are friendly and have cheap prices due to the overwhelming stock they receive daily from trade. The Trader's guild in the town square is the hub for new and upcoming traders who desire to get into the business of trading. The Lord of the city resides in his castle next to the town square where he participates in his own trade and governing of his city. The visuals of the town represent its history, containing mostly stone buildings with brown tiled roofs and huge docks and harbours for any sort of merchant who seeks their fortune within the city. The city of Letath was built on the banks of a large natural harbour and is truly an ancient trade centre. Its grace is matched by the backdrop of lush forests which have helped shape the city to what it is today. The climate these forests brought were of great importance, but they were also influential when it came to architectural designs as the vast majority of buildings have been built with the wood and timber these forests provided.History
The City began as a small mining town which sent their resources to neighbouring towns and villages for profits. It began to gradually gain more income as the days went by, and more people began flocking there as the deposits of Silver and Gold beneath the city provided the use for weapons and jewellery for rich nobles and daring adventurers. As the city grew, they sought more expensive artefacts in the city of Marpenoth. The inhabitants of Marpenoth did not see the high trade value in the magic artefacts left by the ancient Elves and they easily traded for low prices with the artefacts and found themselves wealthy enough to begin construction on their own city, Letath. Before all of this, though, it was a mere peaceful tribe which was eventually torn apart by the Omarian Empire, and the inhabitants, enslaved. The tribal settlement was burnt to the ground, and the area was left by the Empire. Years later, when the Omarian Empire had fled the Banforte Peninsula, a new, changed society began to build the small mining town, and eventually, the teeming city known today as Letath. During the 50 year war, the city was a huge target for the Kingdom as Eiswelth, as the trade and economy would boost the Kingdom ten fold, and make them all but undefeatable. There was no clear passage for them though, as Sargoth was a huge defensive shield for Kaldaria's use. Letath easily traded back and forth with Ravenfell, to keep them in the fight against the honour bound Eiswelites.
