Description
The wonderous city of Ravencall sits within the Ravenfell Dominion, along the Vlandarian Coastline. It perches on the coast as a port city to connect to the other cities in Ravenfell, Eiswelth and Kaldaria. Road connections to Wildestar means that Ravencall has a well routed supply of gems and jewellery for Nobles and the well off people residing in the city. A supply of Iron, Nickel, Silver and more are easily supplied from the nearby towns and villages, which take advantage of the rich mines and caves that occupy the depths of Northern Ylandra. Huge forests of Elm Trees repose around Ravencall, and this is reflected through the many buildings using Elm wood doors, window frames, indoor walls and more. The main attraction which brings people to see is the Dundiac Falls which are found in the gracious palace gardens within the centre of the city. The waterfall is largest in the continent, and some people say that the waterfall harnesses some sort of magical power, but those are said to be passable rumours, as wizards, researchers and scribes have yet to discover anything magical about the falls. Technology is thriving in Ravencall and it has attracted a lot of attention. Many different cultures have left their mark not just on the architecture, but also upon the city's identity. What historically was a city of few differences has grown into a large melting pot and it's this that unites the 19 thousand inhabitants to this day.History
During the rise of city, it saw a plethora of merchants and travellers passing through when it was but a small farming village that fed the only city in the region, Vlandar. There wasn't much promise for the village and it's inhabitants, but they had struck gold. A vast network of caves and caverns within the region, with an excess of rich, sought out minerals that the rich and greedy desired. The village began to see growth, as many people set out to sell the unrefined earth that could carve out a life for them. Merchants began to turn this small hovel into a bustling metropolis with trade, prosperity and a multi-cultural life at it's core. The village came after the Omarians left the Banforte Peninsula, where the tribes of the region joined together with sympathetic or rebellious Omarians to create societies across the land. The culture varies across the entire city due to the ancient history that the Dominion has. In the 50 year war, the city acted as a staging ground for major offensives due to the excess of resources they could pump into their armies. Ravenfell could supply arms and armour to each and every soldier, aswell as enough food for any front an army or regiment would take.
