The Great Purge

Era beginning/end

The Great Purge, also known as the Era of Expansion, was when the Human race began to conquer neighbouring races across Doivis. Their numbers were left unchecked, and they began to annihilate the other races that inhabited the planet. At the forefront was the Omarian Empire, which was the greatest superpower at the time. No mercy was disposed by the Humans, and most races were either enslaved, Exterminated or incorporated into the Empire.

After years of peace and rest, the Human Race began to overpopulate and suffer. They sought out expansion, but there was no free room left. The greed overtook the population, and war was declared. At the forefront of this attack, was the Omarian Empire, a new and emerging Empire that began to focus on their expansion.    The neighbouring Elves and Dwarves were the first targets of this invasion. They had never expected an attack from the previously peaceful humans, and were quickly overwhelmed by the sight and destruction of the Legions of Omaria.     Death and destruction followed, as kingdoms fell and the Humans brought the rest of the world to their knees. The humans stole technology from the Dwarves, such as gunpowder and guns, and became an unstoppable force that had incorporated most of the planet into their own Empires and Kingdoms. Many races became either extinct or extremely rare. There was civil unrest, but the Empire was tight-fisted and forced its inhabitants into submission. Many on the side of Omaria would have called the time after the great purge ''peace'' but those who were forcibly incorporated into the Empire were unhappy and felt oppressed.
