Mela Varno - The Home Guard

An army of Aravandor, sworn to defend the borders of the kingdom and the people within, take their orders directly from the Monarch of the kingdom, yet in the recent turmoil they have taken no side in the conflict between the houses over who will become the new controlling house.
They maintain border fortresses all along the northern reach, and smaller fortresses and outposts along the coastal areas of the kingdom. Their forces patrol the kings road but do not operate within the towns and cities directly controlled by the Dukes and Duchesses of the realm.
