Bottomless Sea

The Bottomless Sea is a large sea located south of Vustrimia and west of Sarra. It is the deepest sea on Greenerth, the deepest location is 10,982m deep.

Geography

The Bottomless Sea has an overall deep seabed. The sea has a flat, sandy bed, which is pitch black at the lowest elevation. In the south and southwest, the Bottomless Sea is lined with many Thermal Spire Banks, which provides enough warmth for coral reefs.

Ecosystem

The Bottomless Sea is a popular place for Felorcas, who use the darkness and electrical receptors near their jaws to detect prey. A lot of small, parasitic creatures exist in this sea, such as torch lampreys and dwarf blood sharks.

Fauna & Flora

The Bottomless Sea has a small variety of creatures. These are either small or microscopic, or massive. Examples of these stark contrasts in sizes are torch lampreys, which don't grow more than a few centimetres long, and kaijurays, which grow up to 20 metres long as an adult.   Few plant species grow in the middle of the sea, moonvines, moonleaves, and few glowing plants grow in the depths. In the outskirts of the sea, near the thermal spire banks, are many species of coldwater coral forming a coldwater reef. These are usually a blue, grey and black in colour, looking more dead than a coral reef usually would.

History

In 1785, the Scarsaur Market started its construction. Built on the pre-existing Scarsaur Island, the market area aimed to bring together people of all species, selling their precious items to make a living. After not long, the market area became a bustling space full of lively market stalls, chattering, bartering. It became the most famous location on Greenerth, and attracted visitors interplanetary.
