Burning Orchid
Burning orchids are small orchids that grow in the Hell Zone and islands on Dracosei, most commonly Red Rock Island. They are a somewhat dangerous species that are a fascinating plant for herbologists and botanists.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Burning orchids have a dark brown stem that grows up to 10cm tall. The stem connects to 6-12 petals, each petal an ear shape that has a red-yellow shade. The petals burn infinitely, producing small flames and ashes that, when the flowers grow in large fields, can fill the air, causing breathing problems for animals.
Genetics and Reproduction
Inside the petals are spores that grow, and every few weeks are released when they grow big enough. In the Hell Zone, spores require currents from the gas vents to push them further away from the flowers, which is why most of them grow in very close proximity to one another.
Growth Rate & Stages
The burning orchid spores, once planted in the ground, take just a single week to germinate. Then it takes about 5 weeks for the stem to grow, and then the flowers are ready to grow.
Ecology and Habitats
Burning orchids grow in hot climates, in the Hell Zone and various islands on Dracosei. In the Hell Zone, they grow in the fleshy ground in the Burning Forests where the spores find it easiest to grow, and roots can grow deeper in the ground. On Dracosei, they live on islands that have volcanoes, growing on the sides and base of volcanoes and around the burning red rocks of many shores, famously Red Rock Island.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
On Greenerth, they are found in the Hell Zone. They grow in the burning forests, where the fleshy ground makes it easier for plants to grow. On Dracosei, they grow on a few islands that have volcanoes, taking advantage of its heat to grow.
This was very interesting. I hope you add art to it, because I would love to see them!! :D Why are you so great at writing plants :O I really enjoyed the article! :D
Thank you so much! I will definitely add art at some point :D And thank you, I don't have much confidence writing plants so you've given me a little boost xD
