Hell Zone
The hidden depths of Greenerth
The ecological Hell Zone is a cavernous biome found miles underneath the ground underneath the north of the Region of Sarra. It was discovered in the 1990s, but has been rooted in history for thousands of years.
Geography
Simply put, the terrain is difficult to traverse with ease. There are many smaller cave systems with holes everywhere that you can easily fall down and die, you could die from the abundance of lava lakes and rivers, die from the boiling gases in the burning forests. There are many stalagmites and stalactites as well, which constantly fall and regrow.
Arcane Valley
Arcane Valley is the deepest location in the Hell Zone. The valley is full of a toxic yellow mist that sometimes seeps out of the valley into other areas in the Hell Zone. It is a relatively uninhabitable location, only one known creature to exist, which isn't identified as the mist is too thick and it lives at the bottom.Burning Forest
The burning forest is a sub-biome in the Hell zone. It is characterised by an abundance of red and purple trees with silver leaves. When the leaves touch the fleshy ground it ignites and creates fires. The wood from the burning trees does not catch fire. The ground in the burning forests is much more soft, due to the constant fires making the ground squishier and releasing pressure, often creating small vents which spurt boiling hot gases. This biome also has a few flower species, namely the burning orchid and the silver arrowplant.Chained Depths
The chained depths appear to be an artificial location. Massive, iron chains link together along the ceiling, with scarlet moss and vines leaking from them, dangling down to the ground. The rust that sheds from the chains have actually corrupted the ground below, and have turned it into a more metallic texture, and very hard to break.Fauna & Flora
The plant and animal life in the Hell Zone is no joke. Pretty much any plant species can kill you, burning orchids and fiery curlgrass set you on fire, ash trees will cover you in burning ashes. Blazing owls are terrifyingly giant birds that communicate well in their packs, they will stalk you down if you enter their territories.
History
The Hell Zone is believed to be the afterlife for people who commit bad crimes and were bad people. The most scary aspect of the Hell Zone is the mist, which is believed to be the souls of the tortured in the afterlife. It is said that the Goddess of all Evil would torture those who were bad in their past life, and when he was bored of torturing them, she would discard the bodies and leave their souls to an eternity of suffer in the Hell Zone. While not everyone believes this, it would explain the faint screaming sound the mist makes.
Discovered in the 1990s by Errin Rufen in Enim, this cave system was then confirmed as a true location after constant references in mythologies.
