Jobu'kha Settlement in Yonderverse | World Anvil

Jobu'kha

The closest settlement to the Inner Ocean of planet Dave, Jobu'kha is a small arcology of thirteen hundred inhabitants, living closely amongst one another inside a large building, teetering on the edge of the Gelatinous Ocean. This marvel of architecture and technology utilises gravity to remain in a fixed position, on the outskirts of the Gelatinous Ocean.

The arcology was first constructed in an attempt to study the lifeforms of the Inner Ocean, but as more scientists became interested in the field, they began flocking to this site and it gradually expanded. Davite's general appreciation for nature and the native ecosystems led them to preserve the native wildlife in the construction of Jobu'kha, forming what is known as a "living city", equipped with natural rock pillars to sustain the structural integrity, with various corals, seagrasses, kelps and seaweeds growing on them.

Brass Whale Observation Chambers

Quietly poking its way into the Inner Ocean are the Brass Whale Observation Chambers. One of the most vital creatures to the ecosystems of the Inner Ocean are brass whales, with Jobu'kha's biologists making it their personal mission to study and learn the behaviours and psychologies of these perplexing animals. The observatories have attracted the attention of a pod of brass whales that like to frequently visit it, with their babies coming so close that davites can touch them.

Yarr! This settlement is a very cool idea :) I love imagining what it might be like living and studying in Jobu'kha, and its sweet that the settlement is so sustainable and friendly to the environment. Are the scientists and inhabitants all Davite, or are there other species from other worlds living there too?

I'd imagine most, if not all, inhabitants are davites, since Dave is an ocean planet and not many foreigners live there :D Glad you enjoyed the article! <3

Nope. Cannot take anything serious from a planet named Dave. And I further nope from a Gelatinous Ocean that sounds sticky and icky. Don't care how cute your whales are.   In all seriousness, another awesome article. I appreciate the extent of your creativity on all of these. XD

What would an ocean be without a monster lurking in the dark?
