Shedding Wig
Anatomy
Shedding wigs reach a height of roughly two metres. They are a woody plant, and their stems extend from the ground at different points and meet together about a metre off the ground. There, hundreds of tiny branches extend in all directions, with tiny hair-like leaves that grow extremely compactly.
Their leaves are conical, reaching a maximum width of half a millimetre. They grow to about ten centimetres, and clumps of a hundred sprout from a single branch ending. Their roots are very large and reach far down underground to the water table, due to a lack of water in the soil.
Distribution & Habitat
Shedding wigs are endemic to the Unuth Red Desert and any introduction into other locations has been unsuccessful. They are most common closer to the Zcarazas Plains in the south, where they grow closer to rivers and lakes. Bodies of water aren't exactly common in the Unuth Red Desert, but where there's water, there are shedding wigs.
Uses
Shedding wigs are used to create mops. Their hollow, conical leaves are great at absorbing water, and when squeezed water is released, and so they have been used to create mops. These mops are very simple to make, and a single shedding wig can turn into ten or twelve mops.
MOPS. I love it. I want twenty of them in my garden.
