Summoning Wheat Watchers
In the dusty, arid farmlands of the Looming Desert outskirts, wheat watchers are supernatural beings necessary to scare off pests. Many opportunistic herbivores prey on the crop fields grown using the only arable land around.
Wheat Watchers are a rare species of inanimal. native to the Seedling Realm. Their intense magical aura scares off all other animals from crop fields, and their obedient nature means they are used as a form of scarecrow. Summoning wheat watchers is an intense ritual.
A small vase of wheat is placed in the centre of a large ring of seeds on flat ground. The surface has no effect, so the ritual can take place inside or outside. Begin a wheat speak summoning chant, which breaks through to the Seedling Realm and communicates with a wheat watcher, bringing it to your dimension.
If the chant is able to chain a wheat watcher and drag it through, a rippling effect will appear within the ring. A portal to the Seedling Realm will form, and the wheat watcher will be able to enter. Speak a simple chaining spell, and the wheat watcher will be bound to you, obedient, following all of your instructions.
Bow to the wheat watcher as it enters your dimension, as showing it respect and worship will make commanding it easier.
The wheat watcher will not age outside of its native realm. However, it must be provided with golden seeds and water for sustenance.
