Amlakan Gnolls

Far to the south, in the heart of Old Nuria, there dwells a barbaric race of nomadic slavers, held in fear by the people of Ku Amlaka. The hyena-like gnolls are vicious, cunning, and merciless creatures, who raid and kill in unstoppable hordes, without reason or warning, earning them the name of "dog-demons" by those they terrorise.
Their numbers are kept in check by infighting, lack of resources and the harsh environment they inhabit, although they have managed to spread in small numbers to nearly every corner of the continent of Amarthaur. In Yore there are feral tribes dwelling both in the wilderness of Akados and in the Howling Hills of the Dragon Coast. It is not known for sure how big these tribes have grown, but if they reach the scale of the populations in Ku Amlaka, whole regions could potentially be overrun, their peoples horribly murdered or enthralled.
The gnolls are believed to worship a demon lord they call Yeenoghu, the Beast of Butchery. Whatever rites they observe are unknown, but likely to be unimaginably depraved and abhorrent. Pray only that these despicable and effective predators never gain a solid foothold in the kingdoms of the north...
