Cassius
Just as it seemed that the Hordes of Toad would overrun us all, the Elder God known now as The Sundered One did make His ultimate sacrifice, and submitted Himself to the foul magica of Dark Hecate. And in so doing He bound the fiends of Tsathoggua to the pits of N’Kai, where they could howl and screech to their fill, yet ne’er disturb the quiet dreams of men. The Toad, too, was there banished, and slumbers still far beneath the ruins of Tsen. At least, so we must hope.
But there was one who eluded the spell of banishment. Cassius, Herald of the Toad, changed his form and escaped Hecate’s enchantment. Much of his power he lost when he forfeited his terrible and demoniac appearance, but his cunning and charisma he surely did not lose, and we fear he might even now be plotting the release of his Dark Lord from his Godbound prison.
A passage from Tales of Struggle, by Brother Bartholom of The Order of Tyr, 1412 N.E.
