The Tortlemoot

The Tortlemoot is a temporary gathering of nomadic Tortles in the southern reaches of the Festering Marshes. Several times a year, the Tortles meet under the guidance of their Shamans to discuss matters both practical and esoteric. Of late they have been most concerned with the increased number of aggressive and mutated amphibious creatures and monsters in the swamps.
A Tortlemoot can last several days or even weeks, and it is not unknown for an Treantmoot and Tortlemoot to convene together. These meetings generally occur on small defensible islands hidden by dense mangrove or tall reeds. Some instinct in the Tortles seems to draw them together from far-flung parts of the Marshes at the right time for a Moot.
