The eladrin are a Dryntic people originating from the Feywild, and are the common ancestor of all other types of elves. Their exact origin is rather ambiguous, with some sources suggesting the eladrin are descendents of even older beings, or even the divines themselves, while others suggest they were simply brought into existence by the raw magical energies present in the Feywild during the early days of creation. Whichever the case, the exact details of their origin is just one of the numerous mysteries that surround the eladrin and their history.
Physical Appearance
The eladrin are bipedal humanoids that share many traits with their elvin kin. Most eladrin have slightly longer ears than other elves, closer to that of a fairy. It's believed this trait is a carry-over from their creation in the Feywild, prior to their first expeditions into the Prime Material.
At maturity, an eladrin generally stands between six and eight feet tall, though records indicate there have been individuals that have reached upwards of eleven feet, though only those that permanently reside within the Feywild have reached such a height, further suggesting a connection between the plane and the eladrin.
Eladrin, beyond their connection to the fey, share a deep connection to the seasons, to the extent that they have developed physical traits that reflect one of the four seasons within a year. Some eladrin switch their presenting season to fit their emotions or state of being, while others have adapted their seasonal appearances to match their chosen gender expression.
Culture
A true eladrin culture on the Prime Material hasn't existed for thousands of years, and what we know of their culture in the Feywild is largely up for speculation due to the immense difficulty in travelling between the planes. As a result, much of what is known is the subject of speculation and debate, using what ruins have survived the tests of time as sources.
Much of early eladrin society appears to be largely of a technological level never again replicated. Much of the modern conventions of life have been theorized to have originated with early eladrin inventions, with their ruins suggesting technology of even greater advancements than ever considered possible.
