Talanod

Talanod, the capital Talaphax, the Great Southern Kingdom of Man. The city sits in the delta of the river Zil on the eastern coast of the Sea of Mist. It is a prosperous city with a lot of it's economic power coming form it's fishing exports. The city also exports nearly all of the mined materials from the city of Balen Stone up the river Zil.

Demographics

The city is a mostly human population with a diverse mix of other races thrown in.

Government

Technically, the city is a dukedom with Duke Cilopt van Balen as the sitting ruler. However, many decisions end up falling to the king and council.

Defences

A large stone wall surrounds the city on 3 sides, north, east, and south, leaving the west end open to the sea. It is roughly 10 meters high and 8 meters thick. The stone was quarried from areas around the Balen Mine and shipped down river. There are 3 gates into the city not including the major port.

Infrastructure

The city itself is flat and widespread. The only building that is greater than 2 stories is the Capital building itself, which is 4. The pathways throughout the city are mostly concentric circles with roadways extending out as spokes in the four cardinal directions and 4 secondary directions. At the center of the city is a large plaza with the Capital building citing to the east side of it. The east side of the city is a large industrious fishing port.

Assets

The cities main assets include wood, sea catchings including fish and sea-food, minerals from the Balen mine(iron and copper).

Guilds and Factions

The Mistwatchers. A guild of fisherman who specialize in catching fish on the Sea of Mist. A Mistling is the term given to a member of the guild.

Architecture

Much of the cities architecture is wooden as the Greenwood forest provides much of the materials needed. Most buildings that are 2 stories have stone foundation all walls and wooden second floors that extend over the walk ways.
