Sparrow Shrimp

Sparrow Shrimp are domesticated livestock crustaceans kept as staple food sources on Bruz for the carnivorous Donacca. Sparrow shrimp are sexually dimorphic, with the females living much longer and growing much larger than the males. A Sparrow shrimp heifer will grow about as large as a typical Donnaca within the first year of its life and stop growing as it reaches maturity, sparrow shrimp heifers can provide enough meat to feed a Donacca Hunter for 1 week when slaughtered, they will usually live up to 5 years and produce thousands of eggs over their lives, most of which will be unfertilized and serve as a roe that Donnaca eat. Sparrow Shimp drakes are much smaller and short-lived. They usually die within their first year of life as their testes explode after mating, they grow to about a Donacca arm length at the most and can provide 2-3 meals worth of meat depending on their diet.
