Golden Plate
The city had been under siege for two years and an half. The attack to break the siege was set to the next day. That night a Blue Moon lighted the city. The legend tells that Lynne heard a voice that told her to leave the city. She left the city trough the Eastern gate. Her soldiers, who thought of a betrayal and followed her to stop her, found her kneeled in a muddy clearing, praying under the rain.Suddently a lighting hit her. Her soldiers, that ran in her aid, found her not only unscratched, but surrounded of a strange aura. Where she was hit by the lightning, was formed the Sacred Mere, and her breastplate, that was made of iron, suddently turned into gold. This otherwordly sign encouraged the city to follow her, and she led them to victory.Leonard Teapot, Chronicle of the War of Penance
Significance
When Lady Lynne donned the Golden Plate, it symbolised her mission as defender of Vapore and of civilization against the Army of Penance.
After her death, the plate became the official symbol of the Lord of Vapore, and represented the mission that Lady Lynne left to her heirs: to protect the inhabitants of Vapore, the city, and anyone who couldn't protect himself.
