House Coventé

House Coventé is one of the old noble houses of Ouvezia. Its founding mother was Irene, the lady-in-waiting for the first Ouvezian queen, Valería Noelia, and thus it is one of the houses to have public birthing sessions in Menoubra's central temple. Members of House Coventé have always been at the royal family's side, as guards in the Queen's Royal Guard, as teachers to the royal heirs, as advisors or simply as close friends.
The trademark of being a Coventé is being levelheaded and calm, and seeking knowledge as much as they can in order to make the best decision for any situation. Hot-headed younger members are often sent abroad to trade houses associated with House Coventé or sent to the army to learn. To House Coventé, it is no shame to not be a good fit for the family business, and the family strives to find a good fit for each of their members. Especially male members of the house, excluded from the line of inheritance per Ouvezian tradition, enjoy a degree of freedom in their life choices that many other noble houses don't offer. Alexandrej, the current master shipwright in Shelia is the brother of Lady Mariella Coventé, the head of House Coventé, and one of her sons works in the Seat of the Council as a partner to Preben Vertiglobuli of the Vertiglobuli Family
In a way, this makes House Coventé an almost boring house, according to the professional rumormongers of Ouvezia at least. Still, anyone meeting a Coventé would in most cases be hard-pressed to find a more interesting conversationalist. It has become a tradition for all Coventés to spend the winter months on theIsland of Meritané,, and the free-spirited atmosphere of the artist's colony as well as esteemed guests from all corners of Yvari breed an untamed curiosity in the kids and young adults of the house.
