Reykjanes (Rayk-Yah-Ness)

Reykjanes is a town in west-central Scytharia, near the southern extremity of the Bjornheim Range. The town has grown up around a network of hot springs, which have come to fuel a surprisingly robust agriculture community through an elaborate system of steam pipes and greenhouses. Reykjanes is the primary non-meat food producer for Skalmarkelda, Borbeta, Kjaran, Keetalna, and Huttdorf.

Demographics

Reykjanes hosts potentially the largest permanent population of Oceonoi gnomes in Scytharia, many of whom are among the brass-smiths who maintain the steam pipes running throughout the city.
Otherwise, the population is composed bearfolk and humans, in much the same proportions as elsewhere in Scytharia. A small minority of the humans are ethnically Göthemiri, by way of Huttdorf and Ketalna.

Infrastructure

Much of the structure and layout of Reykjanes is determined by glass-encased farms and gardens and the steam piping that supports them.
