Rhian/Seren
Rhian and Seren are dual aspects of the same goddess of beauty, representing opposite sides of the coin. Rhian and Seren represent beauty as aesthetic concepts, rather than the object of any sensual desire. Rhian is associated with the sun, and represents pure beauty which serves no purpose other than to be beautiful. A painting, a garden flower. Seren is the dark side of beauty, often tempting an observer to distraction, or worse. The luminescent swamp gas that leads a man to his death, the siren's song that causes a ship to crash against the rocks.
The Rhianite and Serenian clergies are two very distinct religions, whose history runs the gamut from amiable cooperation to outright holy war. Both are responsible for or provided patronage to a very large portion of the most important art works of history. A few temples even hold artwork believed to be pre-Sundering in origin.
Rhian and Seren appear as tall, slender females, and appear to be of an age where one can never be sure if the word "girl" or "woman" applies. They appear almost like elf-maids, of Khal'res height and Diz'res slenderness, but without the pointed ears, and with softer, rounder features. They prefer to appear in elaborate lacy dresses of thigh length and exposed shoulders. However, Rhian appears with a white dress and black hair, whereas Seren appears with a black dress and pale blonde hair. Despite being two aspects of the same goddess, in art they are often depicted simultaneously, because of their intertwined nature, often in a piscean pose.
