Aura
All life forms in Zammintar have an aura, it is their spark of creation, the ember of life. Aura naturally protects itself, and will instinctively attempt to resist manipulation or interference to it. This makes many seemingly easy spells far more difficult when used on something that possesses aura. For example, even a novice transporter should be capable of teleporting an object into a locked box, but should the transporter attempt to teleport the same object into a person or being's body, they will find it far more difficult.
Since Aura is also a natural part of a lifeform that being may, for what ever reason, be willing to accept the influence of another's Aura on them such as a wounded man being offered healing or willing traveler being transported across some distance. Note however that the natural instinct of an unaware being is not openness and as such neither is their Aura naturally accepting when they are not aware. The Aura acts as a sort of safety net or barrier for the being that possesses it however it is possible to exist without. Beings without aura are extremely rare, and usually the result of either powerful necromantic magic, or foolhardy practitioners attempting magic far beyond their means who have had it stripped away as a consequence of going toe to toe with the cosmos in an event known as Aura winking.
