Food Rules
- 1 Resource can be created by a Chef (or a group of at least 5 people) for $25 of Food Scrap in 10 minutes.
- Pokemon that are killed can be harvested for their materials, producing a number of Food Scrap dependent upon the size of the creature:
Small Size: $25
Medium Size: $50
Large Size: $100
Huge Size: $200
Gigantic Size: $500 - Only Pokemon that have organic parts can be harvested. If it is only partially organic, then you harvest half as much Food Scrap from it.
- As an Extended Action, a Trainer can hunt for food up to 3 times per day and gain their Survival Rank in Resources each time while doing so.
- At the end of each day, the party consumes X number of resources, where X is the number of PCs and pokemon in the party. A creature’s Size influences how much it consumes - Small creatures consume half a resource, Medium creatures consume 1 resource, Large creatures consume 2 resources, Huge creatures consume 3 resources, and Gigantic creatures consume 4 resources. Pokemon with the Nullivore diet do not count towards this number, but they may have other dietary requirements…
- Resources can be procured in many ways, but the most typical are foraging and purchasing at a market. There are many opportunities for a creative player to survive in their own way.
- If a party member fails to rest and consume resources, they take 1 point of Body Skill Damage per day without resources.
- Pokemon can be harvested for extra resources according to the below table:

I'm using an adaptation of this in my campaign (balancing prices with other stuff that is going on, been in a pokeball slows your metabolism, etc) and it's pretty nice in getting my players to think of their journey as an actual journey. I have mixed feelings about not including water in this. We don't need even more bookeping, but assuming each resource counts as including water intake, I don't know how to deal with scenarios were there is food but no water (deserts, woods without ponds...)
I rule that some water pokemon (like squirtle) produce salt water, while others produce fresh water specifically because I don't want to deal with water intake. But hey, if you're going so far as to have pokemon get less hungry while in pokeballs, go for it. You could still use Skill Damage to simulate going without water for a while.
Actually, I forgot that my characters have totally all bought water canteens from the local store, which is where they usually get their water from. I should codify that stuff, too...
