Construction beginning/end
Emperor Johwa decrees that the decaying infrastructure of the Zamzian Empire is to be reconstructed with revolutionary techniques.
The Zamzian Empire had gone through various trials and tribulations within its 400-year existence, and time had long since worn down much of it. Most importantly, the roads of Zamzara had languished under the rule of Emperor Qián the Pious, as he was more concerned with the building of temples than infrastructure. Many of the most far-flung villages of the Empire felt ignored and exploited by their more grandiose neighbors. It was his successor, Emperor Johwa, who knew something had to change if the Empire was to survive in its current form: Only through the strengthening of the economic structure would civil unrest be averted. And so, the Infinite Highway was engineered over the course of 18 years, forming a rock-solid backbone whose roads and bridges would survive into the Age of Darkness, nearly 2000 years later.
