Journal 34: Dinner at Chateau Tusan
The party is invited for dinner by the vampire lord Jean-Pierre d'Edouart to meet his compatriots. Intrigue unfolds as each of them tries to pull the party in different directions
General Summary
After saving most of team Bravo, we step out to the garden and freshen up at the fountain. Then, we have a dinner party to attend to! There is a goblin, called Francois Imbert. He is sort of a smuggler king. He is based in Attenheim. A brown-haired human with glasses, aristocracy, male. His name is Basile Peltier, of a traders/noble family. He is from Onyx' Landing. Another man, red haired, is named Sacha Robillard. He has connections with the platinum company. There is a trade route from Onyx' Landing to Attenheim. Francois wants this. Sacha doesn't want this. Basile wants this. Alexandre, master of the caravans, is in Francois' pocket. Onyx' Landing was built around the skull of a primordeal titan. There is a dragon south of Attenheim. Francois tells us we could help people kill it. Basile suggests we bring Lord Byron a rare animal. The one that brings him the rarest wins and gets the loot! This is taking place in Onyx' landing. Sacha: there are fights in taverns around the country that hold a 'fist fight' competition. Also, if we bring him money, he can buy us Platinum Company mercenaries!
Jean-Pierre Lebas de Fenelon-Chaussy d'Edouart met Basile's grandfather and kept in touch. He has ties to the king, Gerard Chaussy. Francois is a more recent addition to the interesting group. The trade caravan was attacked nearby. Sacha does it all and has fingers in many a pie. His family is gaining ground (figuratively) in Chaussy. Jean-Phillipe Lebas de Fenelon-Chaussy d'Edouart offers to join our little adventure.
Jean-Pierre takes a stroll with Rael, they talk about who is trustworthy. He then sees light in his study, and rushes in. Rael follows. Jean-Pierre enters his study and seems charmed, and becomes feral. Oh no! Sasha stands behind a desk, on which lies a big, shiny, recongnizable orb that we totally left somewhere in a dungeon before. Sasha drops his disguise and is one of the tieflings from before in the time loop! He flees! Jean-Pierre attacks! After a very long and rocket-tag-y battle, Jean-Pierre finally snaps out of it. He totally ruined the fancy diner party :( The orb is (after an identify) the Eye Of The Neverliving God and obviously bad news. It can be used to use a host for destruction. We learn that Theramae, a wizard, might be able to help us with the orb (i.e. get rid of it, make sure it stays save).
After we sleep, we check on Darri, because we haven't seen her in days. Shynt enters her room, and finds Byfir talking to her.
Some things we learn (and some things we already knew):
Attenheim lies in the province of Giraux. Attenheim doesn't like arcane magic very much.
Temris, suffered the same fate as Raspit's quarry.
We are currently in Chateau Tusan.
Littlebrook holds the church of the last ('Inuth' in Celestial).
Vavasour
King Gerard Chaussy's fourth daughter is being groomed to marry Lord John, knight of the king.
