Journal 35: The Eye of the Neverliving God
The party encounters the powerful magical orb once again, and, once again, it was used against them. It's time to get rid of this thing once and for all!
General Summary
Byfir talks with Shynt. He tells him Conzalo has slain two of the circus (Duretta & Hiroki). Byfir has a special connection to the kids from the circus (like Shynt). Conzalo started murdering 'them', but he is not sure why. It was not Byfir in the crypt, perhaps it were the memories of Aveline Lebas de Fenelon-Chaussy d'Edouart. After the talk, he vanishes with swirling playing cards effect.
Jean-Phillipe Lebas de Fenelon-Chaussy d'Edouart joins us, and will travel with us (in rat form) in Rael's pocket. We plan to go to Wizard Theramae, with the orb. Travel is smooth, until we set up camp and zombies come from the ground and attack. We un-undead them. It turns out the black talking grimoire holds Anvanax, and it is obviously an ex-living eeeeevil book spirit.
Kichi, a bird person, opens the door of Theramae's house. We go in, and have some issues socializing, as Kichi tells us we can't go further to see Theramae. After a brief scuffle, we get to meet the wizard (but also could have just asked of course). Kichi the Female Bird Person doesn't really talk but mimics voices.
Theramae is an old dwarven lady. She will protect the orb, but in return we have to retrieve 247 pounds of snow for her. In the mean time Rael sends a Magic Message to Mardak Strongjaw (?), but Mardak has trouble understanding Magic Message and its 25 words limit. We manage to understand that he is at the border, with 40 people (maybe?). Theramae tells us Littlebrook has a temple to Diviath. Their leader is Creed (female), a mother of 2, redemption after a bad past. Tiefling. 45 years old. Diviath came to her in a dream. This is a lot of very specific information. Also, Diviath is a time god now. Theramae is very helpful and even has some magical items for us to trade for, but no one is very interested. She will keep the eye safe for 20 days, so we can get snow. To transport the snow, she gives us a Cart of Colding, which is a normal cart but keeps shit cold inside it. To make travel easier, Wren buys a horse from a farmer.
There are 9 days remaining until the animal (rarity) competition.
We convince team Bravo to get the snow for us, using the Cart of Colding.
