Overview
A delightful and picturesque location for a luxury resort, Avon Beach boasts a natural environment and an assortment of natural gems. It is the perfect place to relax for nobles and richer clients, and also a guaranteed delight for nature-lovers. This small beachy vacation city in Lumeria has no actual government system, but is loosely run by resident tower wizard and owner, Jhaeros Wysa. Merchant Josephine's Magical Menagerie
This is the first branch of Josephine Wysa 's stores. The inside of the store is painted a warm yellow color and is brightly lit from a string of magically floating globules of light, rotating through the color spectrum. The store itself smells sweet like candy or pastries, but not too overwhelmingly. There is a large front desk, several cabinets and cases displaying various trinkets, armor, weapons, adventuring gear, and an assortment of items. Behind the front desk, you see more displays on shelves and a curtain lined door, blocking further sight into the back of the store. There is also what looks to be a large cat tower structure lining the walls of the room.Wysa Tower
The local wizard tower that belongs to Jhaeros Wysa. He is often seen sipping tea on a balcony during the mornings. The round tower seems to extend endlessly up into the sky, and is made out of light colored sandy stone.Shell Theater
An enormous crab shell sits on the beach, piled up with sand around it. It is maybe 80 to 60 ft across at its width. The bottom of the shell curved into the sand making a large shallow divot, where people have built chairs and seating into the shell to sit. The top of the shell has been partially cracked off the bottom and sits like an open clamshell and works as a roof to the entire structure. The back of the shell contains a stage. A few scatterings of leg and claw shells surround the rest of the theater. Shows like Tusk Love and other musicals are shown here.Emerald Forest
Avon Beach's surrounding forest is a mixture of coastal temperate forests and tropical rain-forest trees near the beach. There is a natural cavernous system and small creek in the cliff-side. A lot of effort from Jhaeros has been put into maintaining the natural life here.Diamond Bay/Diamond Beach
The waters glitter a brighter, lighter turquoise color than you ever seen an ocean appear before. The waters are also very clear, displaying fish and sea life swimming further out in the ocean. The beach is almost white and reflects a variety of colors. The sand granules actually contain trace elements of crystals and gems, and contain some clear particles that shimmer and reflect the light. But the granules are also smooth and rounded from being worn down by the water and waves. Tropical trees dart the beach line. A large amount of ships fill the bay, docking closer towards the river and Liv’ Kri. You can go diving here with some spells there are selling in the stores.Avon Beach Temples
There is a large temple to Melora/Wildmother, and two slightly smaller ones for Ellistraee/The Dark Maiden and Sarenrae/The Everlight. Other religions are generally respected here, but there are more main god temples within the capitol. The temple of Melora is made of brown stone and towers up in a square shape. There is also a cluster of vine wrapped up around it, various colors of flowers, and it is shaded by a large tree that grows from the center of it. The temple of Ellistraee is circular and has large columns supporting its domed rooftop. It is white with a purplish tint, and is primarily made of marble. (Think round Greek Temple.) The round shape of it reminds you of the moon. The temple of Sarenrae is also a white building, but is squarish, and only has columns in the front (like an Etrusco-Italian Temple). Yellow torches are suspended from its arches.- Temple of Melora in Avon Beach - Appears to be the largest temple, and everything has a notably organic touch to it.
- Temple of Eilistrae Avon Beach - A dozen or so drow here, there is a small dancing auditorium and performance area next to it.
- Temple of Sarenrae in Avon Beach - Teo and Ella have settled in here for four years. Teo takes work for the Talon, and Ella works at the temple.
Gift's Resort and Villas
A fine tavern/inn. The rooms are 1 gold per night. There are also a set of rentable villas behind the main building (4 gold per night). A large amount of hammocks outside the building on the beach.Island of Zircon
A small island absolutely overrun with lush vegetation. Jhaeros has declared this island a protected area of wildlife and nature, and no one is allowed to stay overnight.Opal Plaza
This is a large patch of stoned pavement, with several small cultivated gardens spaced intermediately with stone benches surrounding them. This is where Fall’s Crowning Festival is being held.The Ivory Strip
A cluster of stores and boutique are in this area. Some such stores are:…- Sunstone Spa - Offers complementary treatments, mud wraps, hot tubs, showers, seaweed wraps, and facial and hair treatments. (Ilann Tilta, Water Genasi) A dome shaped building that is painted a turquoise color. The Sarenrae Temple owns this spa and clerics will come here to work and provide pain relief and therapy for patrons. The manager is a water genasi named Ilann Tilta. She has dark black hair pulled back into a tight bun and loose flowing clothes. They offers complementary treatments, mud wraps, hot tubs, showers, seaweed wraps, and facial and hair treatments. These all cost about 2 gold a piece. For a premium healing radiant treatment (using the power of the sun and clerics), you can gain 10 temporary hit points. This will cost 5 gp.

- Jasmine Delights - Gift shop/sells diving gear and assorted trinkets and gift store items (Jasmine Kelsey, Human) This gift store is owned by Jasmine Kelsey, a brunette human with tanned skin. She is selling sea themed trinkets, such as sea shells and fancy parchment, as well as some swimming gear.
- Spectacular Closet - Clothing Store (Hatae Nailo, Dwarf) A dwarf with dark skin and black braided hair owns this establishment. His name is Hatae Nailo. It is a clothing store selling summery themed clothes, beachwear, and some hiking/sporting gear.
- The Crate and Collectibles - Random trinket store and jewelry (Guinevere Darkwood, Red Dragonborn)
- Diamond Bay Boats - This store on the beach rents and sells little sailboats and paddling boats, as well as tours to the underwater caves and the Island of Zircon. They are holding Shirley’s boat. They also sell fishing gear, but warn the players that fishing is only allowed in small amounts, and they can also go fishing in Peridot Park. This store is owned by a human named Viu Xuem. He has dark skin and a bald head, smile lines in his eyes and heavily calloused hands.
- Avon Beach Museum - This building is a series of glass cases with various gems and items inside, along with descriptions and pieces of paper describing the history of the place. There are diamonds and samples of sand and the crab’s shell. Also there is a halfling woman with hair tied up in a ponytail at a desk with a box for Wildlife Preservation donations.
- Peridot Park - This park is attached to Seaside Gardens and next to Jhaeros’s Tower. There is a pond/lake in the middle actually designated for fishing, this is done to encourage less fishing on the natural sea-life. The pond contains a bunch of farm raised fish and you can rent fishing poles with 5 pieces of bait for 1 gold. Roll a DC11 Survival check with the fishing gear to catch a fish. If a success, you roll on the following table. If you fail, you waste 15 minutes waiting around, before pulling it back and realizing your bait is gone.

- Underwater Caves of Avon Beach - The known pathways are shown via tour if you pay 1 silver. The caves show some glimmering dark gems encrusted over the ceiling of the tunnels.
The Talon / The Onyx Nip
This is the local Thieve’s Guild. They are actually employed by Jhaeros as guards for Avon Beach. Jhaeros disliked the stuffiness and old money connection of city guards and therefore employs the Talon to carry out his wishes instead. They are more of a Chaotic Good type of guild. Brysein the Sapphire Nightmare lived in a large underground tunnel that used to be occupied by kobolds. "Avon Beach is not a walled city, and is in fact more open and less constricted in its city limits. As you follow the stone pathway out of the forest, you can immediately smell the sea water and humid airy coming from the South. As opposed to the fishy smells of the harbor district at Tharlonde, the air smells clean and pure. Also, there is a notable temperature change, when you enter what you imagine the city limits are. The brisk fall air suddenly become warm and sunny. If you look app and squint at the sky, there seems to be a slight arcane shimmer to the air, like the weather is not entirely natural. You see a cluster of beautiful buildings in front of you, and what appears to be a circular plaza."
“You get the impression that luxury and entertainment are large themes in the city. The streets are more clean, the buildings more polished, and a lot of images seem more deliberate. However, there is also a large abundance of natural local foliage and nature, it seems that certain large areas on the city are dedicated to the wildlife of the area and that the buildings and civilizations remain in certain areas. The city is also extremely clean and nature conscious, which is shocking for a vacation spot.”
