Taiga

Far to the north the vast taiga takes over the landscape. Filled with an endless expanse of evergreen trees and a harsh, inhospitable environment. Put on your warmest sweater and bring your hottest drinks. This land is full of mystery and danger.   The powers of Nature Magic, ice magic and Illusion Magic are incredibly strong in the taiga biome. From the deepest and darkest forested areas to the permafrost bogs, the taigi has no lack of diversity. Most of the taigi is covered in snow year round, however there are areas that see temperatures as warm as 15c during the summer.

Survival tips

  • The taiga has a limited supply of food. If you're going to be exploring you should know the berries and fungi that are edible.
  • Understanding how to build a small shelter could be the difference between life and death.
  • Fire magic is not strong in the taigi, knowing how to build a fire is a vital skill.
  • Ice magic can be used to trap and hunt for food.
  • If you come into contact with a predator, illusion magic is incredibly powerful and potentially lifesaving.
The family had lived in the Taiga for generations, they knew the land and its dangers well. But as they foraged for food on this cold winter day, they stumbled upon something new. A creature unlike any they had ever seen before. Its fur was as white as the snow that covered the ground and its claws looked to be made of bone. The creature roared, baring its large sharp teeth.   The creature stood at least 7 feet tall and moved with a menacing bounce as it ran towards them, they knew they had to act fast. The youngest suggested finding a nearby bog to hide in, and the others quickly agreed. They made a run for it, their hearts pounding as they heard the creature's howls behind them.   Finally, they reached the bog and dove into the murky water, hoping it would be deep enough to conceal them. They held their breath as the creature reached the edge of the bog, its glowing blue eyes scanning the water for any sign of them. But today fate was on their side, the bog was deep enough to hide them and the creature eventually gave up and wandered off.
