Willfull Dragon

The myth of the Willfull Dragon has never been confirmed... let alone investigated. This is an unfortunate aftereffect of the enigmatic nature of the Dragons as a whole. When you propose something that most people think is the myth of a myth, they don't think twice about it. However, I believe all this mystery makes it all the more eerie. - Citizen of Cape Memory

Myth

Willfull Dragons have been characterized in various mythologies as a beast of immense power, a dragon gone mad with will. The most outstanding example of this was the story of the Metzli Coatl, a name which translates to white beast or "moon beast" in the language of the Sun Dragons (not to be confused with normal Dragons). The story goes that one day the moon grew so strong during the midnight hour that the dragons living on the highlands of Amgine: The Lost Continent were overcome by eternal willpower which erased their emotions and memories. This turned them from beings of great intellect and power to mindless Werebeasts devoid of magical prowess and abundant in physical brutality. Unlike the human legend of other werebeasts, a Willfull Dragon would stay in its state permanently. Its only goal would be to survive and hunt. A willfull dragon would be reverted back to their primordial instincts and would lose all sentience in the process.

The Facts

Willfull Dragons started popping up in the mythology of various cultures in the years following the horrific dissolution of . It was also around this time that the dragons disappeared from their ancestral home of the Cerebral Highlands. Additionally, we know that willpower did have a major role in the creation of Dragonglass, and also there have been documented reports of other species falling to their willpower.

The Truth

The validity of the Willfull Dragon depends on how much confidence you as an individual have in the existence of Dragons as well as how you view the facts. However, many prolific figures throughout the history of Zealor have commented on their belief in the matter. Some of these figures include Enigma of the Sun, King Submarle of Cape Memory, The explorer Pulshio, Pelios the benefactor of Zeal, and countless others. While the public consensus is that this is just an old wives tale, many of the facts point to its validity. Its not farfetched to image that the Dragons could've gone mad from the influence Thalian, god of knowledge after his imprisonment in Senturica. They could've then scattered from their homeland based on primal desire or could've even died off. Recently, most reports of Willfull Dragons have been flooding in from the Northern Foglands, the proposed imprisonment site of Elsian, god of willpower. If this theory is advanced further, it could stand to reason that Willfull Dragons are primally drawn to the largest source of willpower in all of Zealor, its creator.
