The Destruction of Ainand

The conflict that destroyed the continent that spanned most of the other side of the world.

A long time ago, there was a large continent on the other side of the world, known as Ainand, which was full of life. The civilizations on Ainand are rumored to have been quite technologically advanced compared to the current people of Zelunica.   There was a war between many factions of gods, as well as their followers. Almost every god with enough consciousness to participate did so. This war was incredibly destructive, and culminated in the total destruction of the continent, which was literally shattered. Almost all of the living things on the continent died, and as far as anyone knows, there is no civilization left.   Afterwards, over time, there was a series of treaties and agreements which today, essentially prevent the gods from interfering too much in the mortal world. Generally, more powerful deities are more restricted.   Some historians speculate that the original settlers of Zelunica, the Zelunii, came from Ainand. Currently, this theory is unproven.
