Goldie Locks

Happy years in the Lost Forest

Goldie was the oldest daughter of a fairy couple called Mrs. Anya Locks and Mr. Apa Locks. She had a younger brother called Silver and a sister called Bronze. All their facial features were quite similar, so they were primarily distinguished by the colour of their hair– which happened to correspond with their names – when they were still young and wild and free. Although she loved her siblings and parents dearly, her best friend was a nonbinary unicorn called Unie Quorne with whom she enjoyed playing and pulling little pranks on her siblings using their telepathic conversations.   When she grew up, she fell in love with a fairy man called Loch Ness, with whom she had 3 kids: Kind Ness, Genuine Ness and Fair Ness. They were one big and happy family. Even then, she never forgot to spend enough time with Unie. The only thing they were missing from their lives, often discussed with Loch, was magic: their idea was that true joy in life was only possible to acquire through games and magic, and their dream was to one day find a way to make this happen.

The catastrophe

On a warm and sunny day, at the age of 55, she was away from home, spending the day with Unie. When they got back, they found the place in ruins, with all her family disappeared. *enter evil species who may have had a reason to destroy the place, and it’s up to you whether everyone else apart from Loch died or not*   Traumatized, Goldie found herself in debilitating agony, unable to eat, drink or sleep for two days. She only got through this initial period of dealing with this shock with the help of Unie, who did everything they could for her survival. This was followed by 20 long years of going through every inch of the island, trying to find whoever may be alive from her family. Finally, this search came to an end when she found the unmistakable remains of her late husband’s body. At the age of 75, this was the point when she decided to start a new life, the way they had always imagined a perfect life would be like. She told Unie to do the same, and they said goodbye. While they physically left each other, every once in a while, Unie still appears in her dreams.

Leaving the island

Goldie got on a ship and left the island. She went to *place*. She stayed in a popular tavern, amused by the local bard’s magical illusions and music, spending most of her time with playing different games with guests. One night, she met a gorgeous young-looking individual called Los, who invited everyone in the room to join him for a gambling game. As she kept looking at him, she felt as if something was pulling her heart towards him. After a while, she realized what it was: his magic, which was so vibrant and alive that it almost formed into a ray of sunshine as he got more and more involved in the game (this experience later had the effect of the colour of her wings changing due to excitement). At least that’s how she saw him. As soon as these thoughts formed in her head, she immediately knew this was her only way of living the life they had wanted with Loch. So, she played. She bet and rolled and bet, until it was only her and Los in the game. At the point of no return, she wagered her own two wings for magical abilities granted by Los: and she won.   With this newly found power, Goldie is now determined to live her life as happily as Loch would have wanted: with games and magic – but without ever stopping to look for the rest of her family.
