Astral Rifts

When humanity ripped a hole in the dimension, they didn't know that those actions sent ripples throughout the universe. On occasional planets a rift might open, either releasing beings from the other side or influencing indigenous creatures. Along with the contracted are trained to nurse theses rifts back to normal, once an Astral rift is completely open it's almost impossible to close.
