Automaktion is a school of magic that was first discovered in Zhen Gho. It is the art of using a combination of technology and magic to cast spells and create automatons to aid in different circumstances. It primarily operates within the elemetns of lightning, fire, radiant, force, and thunder although it does have properties in nearly all in some capacity. For the common person the most well known feature is that of creating automatons, primarily for combat. However, practicitioners of the art in its various forms know that it goes well beyond that. There is a connection to artifice at its core allowing for magic to be infused into technology and the limits to almost be boundless. The wielders of Automaktion have been known create items and magical effects that bridge the gap of industry and the arcane. There are many of those who study this art within Zhen Gho and it has spread to the other two continents, even having users within the Coils of the Kraken.
Automaktion is manifested by those who have studied and practiced the arcane art. It is primarily seen used by Artificers in all specialties but specifically in the Clockwork Engineer, Wizards (primarily of the School of Automaktion), Clerics of the Artifice Domain, and Fighters who follow the way of the Ingenuity Knight. The magic produced under Automaktion is usually a bright green hue that comes from the caster, or emanates from automatons created. Within the spells cast there are geometric shapes within the energy and appear as runes along the exoskeletons of the automatons animated with it. It is quite unmistakable and through it gaining a bit of notoriety people recognize it rather easily.
As far as Automaktion being nullified this simply happens where any other magic suffers the same effect. There are various magic dead zones throughout Zennith that also effect Automaktion, which includes any automaton created. For areas where it is stronger it seems to flourish in places of high technology or magical progressiveness. Those who study the art are only guessing as to the reason at this time, but many believe it is due to how magic is evolving nearby technology, especially in Zhen Gho.
