Bianyuan (Bee-On-U-On)
Bianyuan is a small village at the very South Western tip of the Huali mountains. It is nestled into a rare low area of the mountains nearby to a lake that flows out southward of the mountains. There is not much here outside of what the people of the village need to survive. The only thing of note within the village is that of a small monestary. It is the one and only location of the Goyoham Monks. They are a small select order that focus on meditation and serenity over anything. Here the Monks help out the village and the people assist them as well. It is a quiet village with a great example of a symbiotic relationship between the people and also the envirnoment around them.
Demographics
There is a high concentration of humans within Bianyuan since humans are the most prevalent race within Zhen Gho. There is also a couple family of woods elves, a number of mountain dwarves, and some Aarakocra there as well. The monastery has about the same division of races, along with some Earth Genasi. Most everyone there is of the same wealth class. Most are making a living enough for themselves and/or their family. As far as professions most people are farmers or herders and the rest fill in the needed professions of the town including baker, merchant, and blacksmith.
Government
The Government is very basic here. There is a mayor who has been elected by the people there. He makes final decisions for the village, however most cases they decide as a group together. There hasn't been another vote for a long time. This is simply because there hasn't been a need. The current mayor, Yin-Sho Fan, has served the people well and continues to put the village first. The basic rule is that when a new Mayor is needed they vote a new one in, otherwise as long as the current is still doing the job and doing a good job, no change is needed.
Infrastructure
The most infrastructure that is in place in Bianyuan is farming of crops and herding of livestock. They mainly farm rice as well as beans. They are hardy plants that can survive the elements as well as the height. Also they are easy to grow and gain the village a livable profit. For herding they mainly have goat herds that they get milk, cheese, fur, and meat as needed for themselves and basic trade. No one is living by extraordinary means but everyone is making it by in this tough place.
Guilds and Factions
The only faction there is the Goyoham Monks. They have their one and only temple in this village. They were seeking a place of solitude and peace in order to perfect their meditation techniques. They also needed a place to pursue their belief in meditation and knowledge bringing on spiritual detachment and ascendance from their bodies. They choose this remote location and the village was perfect for them as well. They needed a place to provide food and other needs that they didn't have the resources or knowledge to do. The village needed people to help them survive the harsh mountains and take pleasure in the small victories. It has been a true example of a symbiotic relationship.
History
There is not much history to speak of for Bianyuan. It was founded 143 years ago and not much has changed. It has grown a bit bigger since then, but not by much. The greatest changes were probably the building of the village itself, the trade they now do in small parts with surrounding cities. Along with that is the monastery growing a bit in size over time to house some more followers who wished to become monks. There has been no major event in the history, good or bad. This has allowed the village to continue on as if the rest of the world really dosen't exist. Being at the edge of Zhen Gho they really live set apart from the rest of the nation, and they like it that way.
Geography
The village itself is nestled into a flatter area in the mountains. However all around them the mountains rise to their full heights. They are about 10,000 ft above the average sea level of Zhen Gho. There is still roughly another 5000-8000 ft to the top of the peaks around them. Around the mountains are small grazing areas for the goats that the herders cycle through as to not destroy their food source. Along with that are some naturally slopping sides and flat areas where they have been able to plant their farms. In all reality they would not be able to grow much bigger than they are due to geographical constraints. Unless they were to have someone rework the land considerably through engineering or magical means.
Climate
The climate in Bianyuan is not cold all year long. It is colder than most of the country all year long though. The warmest people in the village remember it ever being is in the 50s. From there it can drop to quite a bit below negative. So people there use all types of fur, magic, construction techniques, and other ways to keep warm and survive. There have been storms that come through from time to time. However due to their location between some mountain peaks most larger or dangerous storms pass over, or get broken up by the mountains.
