Zeymia

8th day of The Brawler's Moon, 237ADC

Created by

What happens when the dragons decide they've had enough of our cities and towns? Well... 237 years ago we found out... Pure chaos and destruction, that's what happens. We called it the Dragon Cataclysm and it was horrific. Towns, villages, and even cities were razed to the ground by dragons of all colors. Only a few managed to survive the onslaught. It is said that the dragons were punishing us for our use of magic, their magic, and that we brought the dragon's wrath upon ourselves. Others say that the dragons became greedy and wanted our wealth or maybe they viewed us as a threat. It doesn't matter which is true... What does matter is that for 236 years and 11 moons we have managed to keep the dragons content and haven't incurred their collective wrath again. Oh, and if you ever come across a dragon, under no circumstance should you run from it! First, you must place out your offering for the beast and if it is to the dragon's satisfaction only then should you flee. By doing this, you might save more than just your life. After all, it takes a village to keep a dragon happy but only one to anger them...

(Needs update) Zeymia is a high magic D&D setting. Its history contains four ages in various levels of detail. The first three ages define the history that informs the current political climate.   Zeymia is a world in decline. The ancient ages contained magics unattainable to the denizens of the fourth age. The ruins from those times seem to be mysterious dungeons and they contain dangers and rewards that cannot be guessed at by the adventures.   The politics of the realm have always been characterized by conflict. The nations and nation states are constantly at war. Even in piece times they plot and scheme against their neighbors. The history of conflict informs the current political climates.
