Kalashtar
Deep in the frigid north, under the dancing auroras, the kalashtar live a life in service to the immortal. They descend from a long-lost human tribe that broke away from civilization at the start of recent history. Centuries of unbroken connection to the divine have elevated the physical form of these humans, creating a new race entirely. Kalashtar see themselves as the supreme spiritual guides to the other races, and many embark on pilgrimages to enlighten the other races of the world.
Deep in the frigid north, under the dancing auroras, the Kalashtar live a secluded life in service to the divine. They are born from an ancient human tribe that migrated to the far north long before recent history. Centuries of unbroken connection to the quintessence have elevated the physical form of these humans, creating a new race entirely. Kalashtar are often seen as wise, spiritual people with great compassion for others.
Bound to the 'Soul of the World'
Every kalashtar has a deep connection to the spiritual leylines of Zholmyr, a bond shared by other members of their race. Kalashtar appear human, but their spiritual connection to the fabric of the world affects them in a variety of ways. Kalashtar have symmetrical, slightly angular features, and their eyes often glow when they are channeling their Aura or expressing strong emotions. Kalashtar are particularly skilled at communicating with the gods and channeling spirits. This connection grants kalashtar minor psionic abilities, as well as protection from psychic attacks. The bond to the spirits can cause some kalashtar to display unusual social quirks.Straddling Two Worlds
The dhampir are the most spiritual and religious of the races in Zholmyr. They walk the physical world like other mortals, but they are plugged into the quintessence for every second of their lifetime. This connection causes them to occasionally experience distortions of reality. Their perception fades in and out of the quintessence and they cannot distinguish between what is real and what is projection. Talented kalashtar seers are able to bridle these distortions and fade in and out of them at will in order to gain spiritual insight.Pilgrims on a Mission
The kalashtar attribute their elevation to their isolation from the rest of mortals in the energetically-charged polar region of Zholmyr. For the last century, kalashtar have begun emigrating back to the other races to share their piety. Some have begun to serve on governing councils, some serve as spiritual guides, and some will just preach on the street to anyone who will listen.Kalashtar Traits

You can speak telepathically to any creature you can see, provided the creature is within a number of feet of you equal to 10 times your level. You don’t need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic utterances, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language. When you’re using this trait to speak telepathically to a creature, you can use your action to give that creature the ability to speak telepathically with you for 1 hour or until you end this effect as an action. To use this ability, the creature must be able to see you and must be within this trait’s range. You can give this ability to only one creature at a time; giving it to a creature takes it away from another creature who has it.Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common, Quori, and one other language of your choice.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
