Rise of The Arcane Sanctum

Founding

So’gaan was a land full of magic, but some rose higher in their craft than others. Spurred on by their love for knowledge and learning, they established a large learning structure in the centre of the land, next to the sea, where they could practice their arts. This drew people from all around, and the Arcane Sanctum grew and grew. They established a hierarchy, made of those who originated the group, called magisters, and their acolytes. The rulership was followed for years passed from magisters to acolyte, and as the group grew, they strove for life-lengthening magics and magic that would allow them to last beyond their time. Some magisters managed to seal themselves in objects, forming sentience where there was none. Others formed themselves into liches, and lasted beyond life itself. Other magics still are unknown to history and heavily guarded by what remains of the Arcane Sanctum.
