Abyss
Plane
- As a spirit spends more time in the Abyss, it slowly corrupts into the form of a Demon or Devil. Creatures more lawful, transform into Devil's who desire in making pacts, other transform into Demons who revel in misery. This is how devils and demons are created, and only know way on how they are made or created.
- Stronger beings or spirits turn into Arch Demons, who often serve Idris, God of Malice, those who do not serve him often are destroyed either by him, or another Arch Demon
- The struggle for power in this realm is highly competitive, making a "survival for the fittest" making extremely powerful and potent demons.
- One cannot freely travel DOWN in the Abyss, unless she has been there, and only then, magic must be used to move up, as each layer is seperated by 1000s of feet, suspended above one another.
- A bending to send a caster down, will fail, a measure put in by the power of the original Titans, meant as a "jail" during the Last War.
- You can travel up using bendings.
- Cities, nations, economies exist here, ruled by devils and demons that have spent ages here.
- Time flows differently in the Abyss, it travels slower relative to other planes on roughly a ratio of 1:100.
- The first few layers of the Abyss, called, Mostrinoth are a place of "heaven" for evil souls. Endless parties, sex, orgy, drugs happen here. Evil souls which which selfish in life, stay here. These spirits become warped by the excess, but do not typically want to challenge Idris, or greater demons, and are content with their life here.
- If one were listening in a quiet setting, the screams and bellows of the Titan, Zudius can be heard faintly in the Abyss
- The screaming is maddening, and contant
- The screams get louder as one goes further into the Abyss.
- It is a legend that Zudius was chained by the Gods as the final Titan. The gods battled him, releasing dangerous weapons against him, and with all their power, chained him into the deepest part of the Abyss. Zudius blames Comes the most for his imprisonment.
- Light that streams out from Limbo lights up the first few layers of the Abyss, or Mostrinoth.
- This light on Mostrinoth is similar to Moonlight.
- The deeper one goes down in the Abyss, the darker it gets, eventually becoming pitch black. Darkvision still works.
- Some spirits are tortured here by the pleasure of Devils, and Demons.
- One form of punishment is being thrown off the side of one of the layers.
- The punished, as they fall, scream, and their screams become distant as they vanish into the darkness of the Abyss.
- Small wars happen between factions, but no Devil or Demon is strong enough to challenge Idris, no one is made powerfully enough to challenge him directly. Some have tried, and now live a fate worse than body death in the Abyss. Idris ensures his Demon Lords stay in line, but are only given enough power to challange one another. Often pitting against each other subvertly, or overtly in direct combat.
- Spirits cannot willingly leave the Abyss, they must be summoned outside of their plane.
- Idris is sometimes able to barter with Edysus, God of Travel to personally leave, or have one his demons leave, to accomplish his goals on other planes, to gain more worshipers on the material plane.
- In return Edysus demands that Idris goes back up levels in the Abyss, preventing him from ultimately reaching Zudius, or at least stalling it, until the Pantheon can come together to stop or destroy Idris.
- The Pantheon is mostly fractured, and the good aligned Gods sometimes enter the Abyss to battle Idris, as he was exiled out of his family. The last time the Gods came together in any unifying way was to chain Zudius, as he was the greatest threat to the Void. Idris was cast out because he was on the side of the Titan's during the War, because he wanted to use the Titans to ascend to Titanhood himself, a feat no God has been able to accomplish.
Geography
- The Abyss is one location where matures spirits go after their body dies and are judged by the Gods, in particular, Tyr, God of Justice from Limbo
- The Abyss has "infinite" layers no one has found the bottom to the Abyss.
- Each layer is made of rock floating in a void.
- The size of each rock layer is approximately the size of Massachusetts, or 10k sq/miles.
- From peering out over the top layer, one would see stacks of horizontal floating rock, near the top, is a lip, wrapped in light, but has no definable edge. So it appears the Abyss, as a plane, is "contained" or in a immeasurable cylinder that extends endlessly downward, surrounding the rock layers.
- A layer can be destroyed
- The top layer has the beams peering out from Limbo which illuminate the top 2 or three layers. Spirits judged to be evil by Tyr, are transported by Edysus, God of Travel or one of his minions.
- The layers often rotate very slowly
Ecosystem
- Near the top, it feels warm, as the energy from heats the first few layers
- Deeper you go, it gets colder, dropping roughly 1 degree each layer.
- Demons typically using fire bendings to heat lower layers, as well as light them to see color.
Ecosystem Cycles
- None
Natural Resources
- The upper layers have been picked cleaned of any valueable stones
- The lower layers have powerful stones, which some are bending in magic, and precious
History
- Titans made this plane during the Falling of the Titan's War. They wanted to use it as a jail against one another if they didn't want to destroy each other.
