The Sad Tale of Mintha:
The Darkness came after the heroes left, and with her came the temptation. Sultan Aksirma built a mighty pyramid for himself and his beautiful queen in the sands that would reach to the heavens, so the gods would take notice. They desired the god's secrets of eternal life and health. But the temptation… and lust for youth and power can test any man’s character.
Keen agents of the Darkness told them of a powerful Urn, kept hidden deep in the sands tunnels, beyond powerful traps. The king and queen sent in their armies to retrieve it at great cost.
This urn held the power to grant wishes by the Sand Genie Rizu. The Genie was bound to the lamp, and as long as the lamp was held, it gave the genie and the owner power beyond any. But the power the lamp was forged by the Darkness to tempt weak souls. Slowly, the Genie manipulated them both with wishes to satiate any desire.
The sultan’s wife wished for eternal beauty. The king wished for eternal power. The wishes came true. Both became immortal. But immortality has a price. Consider the Gods, can we mortals straighten what those in the heavens have not made crooked?
Desperate and defiant, the King pleaded with the Genie. But the Genie gave exactly what the Sultan asked. His queen slowly turned into a monster, and his sons and daughters scattered into the desert winds. Their Kingdom, which had lasted since the War of the Titans, slowly decayed and turned to ruins.
Now the king resides in his tomb with the lamp of Rizu, sealed away for eternity trapped with one last wish. He is too afraid to make it though, and is forever cursed to live his days sealed forever in his tomb.
