Chroma Mold
Altibi fungrium, or Chroma Mold is a fast-growing bacteria which spreads on and eats away at certain types of metal.
The fluid used in maintaining household androids contains an oil which prevents this bacteria from spreading to their components.

Chroma Mold is believed to have evolved from bacteria trapped in landfills, adapting to use the metal scrap it was buried with as sustenance.
History & Usage
Everyday use
The mold is used in recycling plants to remove metal traces from waste to make it easier to process. It is also used to clear old landfills.
Another use for it is in finding mineral deposits, Chroma Mold placed on stone or within caves will naturally spread out to find a sauce of metal to feed off of, however, it must be destroyed after the metal is located or it will continue to spread.

Cultural Significance and Usage
In the @Placename the mold is prized for its unique colours, it is used to make unique jewellery made buy containing the mold in a clear, shaped container and coating it in a special resin before attaching it to jewellery as you would a precious stone.

Hazards
In some areas, the mold is considered invasive as if left unchecked it will spread its way through miles of rock and destroy natural ore deposits, it can also eat its way through structures, causing serious hazards in highrises and bunkers.
