Amusi Trade Alliance

A series of city states that form a close knit alliance based on trade and cultural cooperation.
Nekhen forms the de facto capital of this organisation being the largest and richest.

Structure

There is no true structure or government outside of local rulers. Each villiage, town or city can create its own rules within its borders, all that is required of them is to come to the aid of nearby alliance territory and a ban on tariffs on goods from within the alliance. It works in the favor of all within the alliance to follow these rules but still from time to time one of the larger cities such as Nekhen, Xios or Balabala will have to send a show of force to keep any rebellious settlements in line.

History

Once the heart of the great Ashadin Empire, the peoples of the Amusi Trade Alliance are wary of any tyrant who accumulates too much power, hence their devolved power structure.

Territories

The alliance covers the Jangwa Hills, the Ivory Jungles and The Great Desert.

Military

Each settlement is responsible for its own guarding. When force is needed to be mustered beyond their localities mercenaries are used as the peasants have no legal requirement to fight.
