Tempus
The Foehammer
Tempus is the God of warcraft, skill at arms and honour.
In his teaching there is a passage that reads:
If the foe wields arms against you, there is glory in victory against them. And with greater arms comes greater victory. This has caused many interpretations by his followers. Some take this to mean that you should seek out combat that challenges the believers limits, to overcome greater challenges in your enemies. Others take it more literally and will chase down fleeing enemies, so long as they still have their weapons upon their person their blood being spilled will bring glory to Tempus and by extension, the wielder of his will. For these latter believers it is more about the sheer quantity of foes they kill.
I recall an encounter I had with those more akin to the latter followings. It was just south of Balabala when the small caravan I was accompanying was attacked by a gang of gold dwarves sporting the crest of Tempus. From my hiding place I observed one of our dwarf attackers throw an old man from his tent. The man was unarmed and so the dwarf threw on the ground a dagger, some six feet away from the man. A long pause had ensued where the dwarf waited for the man to crawl towards the weapon. No sooner had the man grasped the hilt of the knife, had the dwarf run him through with his sword. How anyone could see honour in these startling scenes is beyond me. - Szabo
