Hudalah
Although not officially declared the capital of the Kabesh and its people, due to its size and importance in supplying distilled water to other settlements, it is the closest that has yet to be established by a Sensaret society. On the edge of the ocean, above cliffs of gemstone caverns, Hudalah only truly took off as a town after the process of distilling salt water was developed there. Nowadays, it is known not only as a center for trade but a place of creative production that no other town has achieved, perhaps to the point where it might soon be its downfall.
Demographics
Hudalah is inhabited by a single species, Sensarets, although they more commonly refer to themselves as Kabeshi in honour of the land that allowed them to flourish beyond those that remained in the Ugon Forest.
Government
There is no sole leader of either Hudalah or the Kabesh, instead the government is compromised of the most experienced and skilled Sensarets, most of them from the oldest and wealthiest families in the region. Although they are responsible for the everyday running of Hudalah, their main duties are in educating the juveniles, even if they are more likely to have a lesser family member do this in their place.
Defences
So far in the Kabesh's current history, there have been no conflict between any of its peoples so most settlements don't even have outer walls encircling the homes of its inhabitants.
Industry & Trade
Hudalah farms enough of their own Fengdo to feed all of its citizens, most of its wealth coming from the salt water it distills and supplies across the Kabesh. The price for this is relatively low for the water's value, Hudalah more concerned with maintaining its reputation and control over the region than making a profit. Other than basic meat and water productions, the manufacturing of items made from Fengdo materials like perfume and clothes are commonly made by most working families.
Infrastructure
The cliffs down to the ocean have stairways in the stone that lead into the crystal caverns beneath, these steps delving deep underground in order to reach more gemstones.
History
Hudalah is one of the youngest Kabeshi settlements, it the first to be established at a distance from any nearby oasis well after the process of distilling salt water was developed. It quickly became the largest Kabeshi town within a few decades, but it was the Drought of Forgotten Years that fully cemented its place and importance to all Sensarets. When the annual rainfall repeatedly failed and wells began to grow dry, there was a mass exodus across the Kabesh to Hudalah, where the ocean ensured that everyone's thirst could be quenched. Those that left after the rains returned took with them the Hudalan practice of currency, therefore establishing a national dependence upon Hudalah once their gemstones became ingrained to other Kabeshi settlements. Although there are still certain groups that abstain from Hudalah's technological advances, most people are reliant on the town enough that its position as a capital of the Kabesh is yet to be contested by another.
The exodus also brought the custom of training Rukanines to hunt Fengdo into Hudalah, several material preparation techniques being developed as a result.
Architecture
Nearly all of Hudalah's buildings are constructed with a foundation of Fengdo bone pillars, different bones forming a base for a number of house shapes that are then completed with mud bricks. The exceptions to these are three mud huts preserved in Hudalah's old town, and the wooden interior that some of the ruling class have as a display of their wealth. Once the mud bricks are in place, its customary for a family to paint the house in a chosen colour together. Most newcomers moving to Hudalah will have to order their own house built as few families will sell one of their homes to a stranger.
Geography
Hudalah sits nearby to a cliffside over the southern ocean. Beyond the town outskirts stretch the open savannah plains as far as anyone can see.
Natural Resources
