The Grand Duchy of Eadrera

A Land Twisted by its Own Hand

Welcome to Eadrera, a nation ruled heavily by an ancient family, feared and respected, loved and hated by all. It is a land altered by the very blood of this dynasty, and will never be the same. Long before its alternation, Eadrera was home to a wide range of species and humanoids, all forming their own civilizations. It was here that one could find a native race of Tiefling that had separated themselves completely from their heritage, and over the course of many years, they had developed themselves with new philosophies involving the great Synthorn, The All-Protector, God of Nature. Through this connection, they formed a civilization similar to that of Wild Elves and the like, and were granted inherited powers unlike any other species. Through time, and just like many other areas across Uulek’Dorr, the region experienced change in the form of wars, colonization, plagues, famines and so forth. But the land endured, and so did the Vandor Tieflings along with their neighbors. However, something else was brought to this land and its people, a certain being that was thought destroyed during the Ancient Aeon: Fyn’olyn himself. He came as a distant wanderer traveling under a guise and a different name, spreading philosophies and faiths that easily altered the minds of the weak. He spoke of the coming of a being, gifted by the powers and knowledge of Thassinok himself, The Unifier, God of Civilizations and Expansion. Fyn’olyn spread the holy word of Thassinok, and began to create a following for this Emperor that would unite this region into one banner. Soon, Fyn’olyn’s promises bore fruit, and this mysterious being came. He arrived on The Storm Road with an army of red and black armored humanoids behind him. His flag caught high in the morning breeze. By the time this Emperor arrived, many cities had already pledged their allegiance. Those that did not would only be in the way. With this self proclaimed monarch’s arrival, a war broke out across Eadrera, which toppled great cities and spread hatred and pain across the land. As more blood was spilled, Fyn’olyn’s plan was finally complete. Unbeknownst to all aside from the Emperor himself, this war was fuel for a great and terrible ritual that would alter this land forever. Fyn’olyn opposition now only laid with the Vandor Tieflings, who led one final effort to end this threat once and for all. In their final battle, Fyn’olyn was successful, and the ritual was complete. It was at that moment when a wave of Eldritch power spread like wildfire across Eadrera, and all those caught in it that did not follow The Emperor were instantly and horrifically mutated or destroyed. Fyn’olyn, annoyed by the Vandor Tieflings, had a special plan for them. He wanted to be sure that such a subspecies would never pose a threat again. Within the ritual, he targeted the Vandor Tieflings and instead of destroying them, he mutated them, transforming them into what is now known as The Maledict Tieflings, a subspecies that would serve the Emperor forever. However, this world-altering ritual did not go unnoticed. Synthorn himself made sure that some of the Vandor would be spared. Thus, in Thornhold Grove, a protective barrier was put in place that defended the inhabitants. It was this event and the intervention of Synthorn that created the two new Subspecies of Tiefling: The Vandor and the Maledict. Today, the Emperor’s power and rule has spread across the land, and his closest family members now share in this, helping keep control over the region's inhabitants. Each family member now rules over fiefs and townships, and each one has been altered in their own way by the Emperor himself, his gift having been changed by its receiver.   Today, The Grand Duchy of Eadrera is a dangerous land, home to one of the most powerful families on Uulek’Dorr, all of them blessed by not Thassinok, but rather Alsuloth himself, the God of Blood and Slaughter. It was he who sided with Fyn’olyn and disguised himself as The Unifier. So, there are many common folk who still follow their rulers, believing that this unification was destined to happen and was necessary. However, There are still those that oppose this belief and know the truth. Thus, there is always conflict occurring in the nation’s borders, and the land itself is always being corrupted by the Emperor and his Family. Will this corruption, this entire region has become a Domain of Dread, and it is The Emperor’s goal to turn all of Uulek’Dorr into his dominion, all for The Blood God.
