Journal 23: 2 ADD PCs = Max Chaos
General Summary
Into the fire (27)
The Entity annoys us a little. We go to the Crescent Temple, and try to teleport via tree there. It uproots and attacks us! We fight! We win! Maze uses Eldritch Blast the tree after it is down, and it revives and hits him. He dies. Reset.
Into the fire (28)
We split up, Maze and Shynt go to the tree while the rest goes to the druids to revive Emilio. Before long Maze and Shynt die by tree. Reset.
Into the fire (29)
Maze, Nate and Nero go to the Crescent Temple. They see a ritual commencing. Maze pushes his horse and almost dies by falling of the cliff, but manages to interrupt Ulfgar and his ritual. We fight Ulfgar a little, and he surrenders. We learn that Diviath slowed time. Ulfgar doesn't know about the time loop. He tells us a secret phrase:
Ulfgar is confused about Elavel summoning Nocdrahir, since she is still in diapers. We are confused. Ulfgar thinks it is about 5 years after the war, and he thinks that Morbelgion is ~26 years old. It seems there are time 'zones', or something to that effect. Also, Ulfgar seems convinced werewolves are also affected by the plague.
Meanwhile, the druids ask Rael if reincarnate is 'good enough' for Emilio. In the end, we go for ressurection. We are able to 'help' the spirit of Emilio return with things that might please his soul. Rael steals a horse figurine, Shynt uses the Nate bounty notice. Emilio returns to the living! Hurray! The firestorm appears, and we all die.
Into the fire (30)
Tentacles appear, and Emilio gets hit! The wounds really hurt and don't heal. We update Emilio with the goings on. The Entity shows up and tells us the tentacles 'fix things'. It seems afraid of them. It is also trapped here, and wants entertainment (us).
Into the fire (31)
We all wake up years younger. We get the light rune and go to the shadow dragon cave. We fight it, using the rune, but in the end we lose and die.
Into the fire (32)
We go to the Crescent Temple, and try the tree teleportation rune. It does work, but the portal doesn't seem to go anywhere. We try to go to the oasis to learn more about the trees, but we fail the riddle. We split up; Maze tries to get into the tower again. The rest talk to Anvindr, who tells us about the tree placement and how to use the teleportation magic between them. The order of the veil placed them (the druids).
Into the fire (33)
We go to the Crescent Temple by treeportation. We talk to Ulfgar, he gives us his runestone. We tell him his metal man plan is doomed and that he will be killed if he continues. We suggest he remove the rune, and use another one instead. This time, it works, and Fedrin doesn't slaughter everyone in sight. We take Ulfgar with us by treeportation towards the shadow dragon cave. We fight the dragon! Ulfgar helps! We win! However, we still die from the elemental waves from the caves (haha).
Into the fire (34)
Tendrils appear again. A lot of dodging is in order. Maze hides behind Gerald, and Gerald gets hit! Oh noes! Nate also gets hit badly. We teleport to the city by tree. We talk to Anvindr. We learn that the magical stairs are enchanted with the F rune, to make them weigh less and float. We take a stair up to the roof of the clocktower, where walkways are.
We talk to three people; Morbelgion and 2 of his guards. Morbelgion is an old man, not ~ 26 like Ulfgar thinks. Morbelgion tells us he hasn't seen Ulfgar, Fedrin and 3-others-I-forgot-to-note-the-names-of in over 5 years. We learn that Diviath is a transmutation wizard, and could alter the fabric of reality. He got them more time. Morbelgion says people are simple, and shouldn't be bothered with the magic stuff. Ignorance is bliss. He says time is slowing down, and the people in the city are unaware. He doesn't know about the time loop. Morbelgion allows us into the clocktower, if we leave Maze behind with him. Morbelgion tells us a secret phrase for Diviath, if we see him:
We (sans Maze) head down into the clocktower. We split ways; some go up, the rest go down. We find a decorated room upstairs, with a lot of books. There is some sort of time reflection/illusion/loop thing in the room. We can see a scenario play out: Diviath with several people around a table, discussing how they should go ahead and cure the plague. The priests from the Crescent Temple are there (restore connection to the gods), as is Leshenna the Alseid (nature-y way to cure the plague), Morbelgion as boy, a hooded figure in keeper clothing (who should keep shit running so the rest can find a cure), an older asian man (alchemy), and an older woman from the oasis (keeping records about everyone's experiments). At the other half of the room is another visage, Diviath who is doing time experiments. There are spheres of light and of red sand on a table, which are used in the visage with time experiments. The red sand sphere makes you very fast for a short time, and the yellow spheres create a sanctuary of time (slower).
Meanwhile, Maze talks to Morbelgion. They talk about power. The guards turn the captured prisoners in the cages into oozes. One makes his oozeperson drip down into the town square, which turns into a giant ooze and starts eating people. Reset!
