  • Gulf of Elysium
The Gulf of Elysium is a tightly packed cluster of stars on the Eastern Fringe of the galaxy. The gulf is bordered by the Cicatrix Maledictum to the north, the Hadex Anomaly to the east, Sautekh Dynasty to the west, and the T'au Empire to the south. Many of the star systems within the gulf are but a short jump away from the Realm of Ultramar.   Due to the turbulent warp storms that accompany the rift, entire systems in the northeast corner of the gulf seem to vanish and reappear as the tide of the Immaterium waxes and wanes. One such system, Occlusius, has recently returned to Imperial augurs.   The Festris System also resides within the gulf, suspiciously close to the T'au Empire. An industrial powerhouse, Festris Prime supplies many local systems with raw materials mined from the mineral rich moon of Festris Secundus.
Supporting Cast
  • The Broker
The Broker is a shared point of contact to all of the movers, shakers and major players in the hiveworld underground. She seems to have no discernable past outside of fostering cooperation and competition between major gangs and factions. Motivated primarily by profit, the Broker seems to turn up whenever an ancient artifact or valuable weapon is sought after by a buyer with the means to fund its procurement. Once a target is established, a team of mercenaries and archaeologists is assembled and dispatched to retrieve it, often from dangerous ruins or hostile alien worlds.
  • The Recruiter
The Recruiter is one of an unknown number of agents employed by the Administratum that handles the acquisition of personnel resources from Festris for the various military branches of the Imperium. Recruiters are constantly on the lookout for individuals and groups that show tactical and/or physical prowess, and can often be found enticing small gangs to take up arms abroad. In addition to this, they are sometimes tasked with keeping tabs on those who have “signed the papers” but have not yet shipped off. In the event of defection, Recruiters can track down and detain spooked conscripts, bringing them back into the fold through intimidation or torture— much more lenient than the standard punishment for official desertion.
