An ex-Imperial citizen, his homeworld was subsumed by the T'au Empire when he was young. While his father, a member of the PDF, was killed in the defense of the planet, Gaul was given a second chance at life by serving the Tau'Va in the auxiliary.

Appearance
Physical Description
Short, stocky, carrying a few extra pounds. Muscular frame due to the high gravity of his homeworld, but the transition to supervisory work, as well as a penchant for strong drink, has allowed his physique to soften.
Body Features
Prosthetic leg earned by way of a mining accident, but he swears up and down it was a battle injury.
Facial Features
Extravagant facial hair, bulbous nose, frizzy eyebrows, and a bald head. Looks every bit his age due to an eventful childhood and laborious occupation.
Identifying Characteristics
Takes care to hide his xenotech prosthetic limb when doing business in Imperial space. Keeps his moustache waxed.
Physical quirks
Walks with an almost unnoticeable limp. While his prosthesis is state-of-the-art, it does nothing to mitigate the phantom pains in his detached leg. The limp disappears when running, suggesting a conscious/psycological cause.
Apparel & Accessories
Standard issue Gue'Vesa exploratory armor. Typically wears a textile scarf underneath, which was weaved by his mother before his first void expedition.
Specialized Equipment
An expert at prospecting asteroids. Quite handy with a pulse rifle.
Special abilities
Something of a sculptor.
Mentality
Personal history
Raised by Imperial parents on a typical agri-world.
Education
Fire Caste Acadamy, average performance. Earth Caste training.
Employment
After serving in the Auxiliary Defense Corps, Gaul recieved training by the Earth Caste. After working as a laborer, then equipment specialist, he was given command of a humble ship and small crew to explore the void and prospect asteroids.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Aided in the successful mineral extraction of several asteroids. Dreams of exploring and exploiting a Space Hulk for the Tau'Va.
Failures & Embarrassments
Lost his leg due to ignorance of safety protocols and foolhardiness. Nicknamed Se'Hen Che'Lel by Earth Caste T'au, meaning "he who rides the lightning," or "foolish one."
Mental Trauma
The initial occupation of his homeworld wasn't perfectly peaceful. Some mental shadows remain from the violence that claimed his father.
Intellectual Characteristics
Relatively average intelligence, though he posesses a strong aptitude for physics and metallurgy.
Morality & Philosophy
Generally kind and cooperative due to T'au cultural heritige. Strong individualistic inclinations remain, as is common with Gue'Vesa.
Known Languages
Low Gothic, T'au
Personality
Motivation
Like most Gue'Vesa, Gaul dreams of furthering the Tau'Va, or Greater Good. Also like most Gue'Vesa, he harbors individualistic desires for wealth and freedom. The T'au have been good to him, and serving the Greater Good is not without its personal benefits.
Quotes & Catchphrases
I'd wager my last leg on it!
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Handy with a pulse rifle and pistol. Never recieved any formal training in hand-to-hand combat, but has been in a tussle or two. Struggles a bit with more advanced technology, especially AI, due to an Imperial upbringing and healthy suspicion/superstition.
Likes & Dislikes
Enjoys a stiff drink after a long day. Enjoys a stiff drink after a short day, too. Relishes the opportunity to explore the vast universe, but does not have the heart of a lion-- a bit more afraid of the dark than a spacefaring prospector should be.
Virtues & Personality perks
Relatively honest, cooperative, and kind. A bit reclusive, but easy enough to get along with once the walls come down.
Vices & Personality flaws
Not the bravest, nor the smartest, nor the strongest, but that wont stop him from acting as if he were in front of his crew to instill confidence. His crew can typically see right through the facade, but appreciates the effort.
Personality Quirks
Voice raises in pitch when out of his comfort zone. If he notices the change, he will overcompensate when shifting pitch back down. Slurring, T'au accent tends to jumble Gothic words together, but generally manages to speak concisely.
Hygiene
Takes his vitamins, and decontaminates as often as custom dictates.
The major events and journals in Gaul's history, from the beginning to today.
The list of amazing people following the adventures of Gaul.
Social
Current Residence
Aboard "The Bohemian" somewhere in Festrian voidspace.
Contacts & Relations
Reports every so often to his Expeditionary Cadre, but largely works unimpeded. Once in a while, he will find something "extra" in his work, and pays a visit to Festris Underhive to offload more esoteric items and resources.
Honorary & Occupational Titles
Gue'Vesa, "human helper/citizen." Fio'Ui'Vesa, "Human Worker/Prospector."
Wealth & Financial state
In posession of a meager ship and small crew, Gaul is considerably more wealthy than most Imperial citizens, but much less wealthy than T'au of his same "rank."
Family Ties
None save for a few distant family members that survived the occupation and reconnected.
Religious Views
Like most humans, Gaul worships the God-Emperor, albeit in the sanctioned Tau'Va-compatible way.
Social Aptitude
Has been around long enough to navigate the waters of social interaction, but due to the nature of his work, Gaul spends most of his time in small groups and in isolation.
Mannerisms
Mish-mosh of Imperial/T'au customs and social mannerisms. Can come across as odd to Imperial humans and Sept-world T'au, but communicates easily in the cultural melting pot of the Festris system.
Hobbies & Pets
Enjoys sculpting with the various types of clay found during asteroid prospecting, as well as collecting crystals. Owns a "pet" shield drone, with a modified companion-AI, while not sanctioned, fairly common among reclusive Earth Caste members.
Speech
Due to the flowing, almost melodic linguistics of the T'au, Gaul's Low Gothic speaking can come across as slurred. Conversely, his T'au speaking is gruff and percussive compared to the speech of Water Caste diplomats.
