War.. War never changes.
This hasn't changed in the remains of Chicago after the bombs fell. In the year 2276, the Brotherhood of Steel have nearly finished crafting the Mid-West's largest and most fortified settlement.
Millennium City.
A bastion whos walls stand but only with the aid of scaffolding. Numerous attacks from Mutants have left the city walls weakened. With the BoS focused on the construction and defense of the city they have slowly lost control in the Chicago area. This power vacuum has given rise to a number of local names.
The Great Lake is held by a band of raiders named Skuttlers, that have broken off from the BoS after the rise of King Judas. Using heavily armored ships to patrol the waters and raid coastal towns.
The threat of Super Mutants grows as news of the BoS HQ, Bunker Alpha, falls to Crown, the Super Mutant Leader who controls his legions of Mutants from his Nest in the Corrvega Car Factory just West of Gary.
Controlling the large strips of open road are the Highway Men. A gang of raiders from Detroit that have moved West using salvaged Pre-War Vehicles to run down any unsuspecting passersby.
South of Gary is an area still held by a number of drug fueled Mirelurk lovers named the Hard-shell Raiders, who breed and train Mirelurks to defend their drug compounds hidden in marshes.
New to the area are the Sakekami. A gang of mainly Japanese from Indianapolis that have set up in Dinwiddie who follow a strict creed and use many old Izakaya's Bar as small outposts, thinking of the bars as holy sites.
The final big name is The Park. A city built inside the Pre-war Washington Park Zoo in the remains of Michigan City. Home to the Osiris Caravan Company (OCC), the GLW Radio Station, and PolarBearMike's Apparel & Armory, to name a few.
This isn't including the strange cult that has taken over Crown Point, weird sounds coming through the radio around O'Hare Airport, and a new Vault being found.
War may never change..
But this wasteland sure will.
