Session 8: Argynvostholt Report
General Summary
The party has made their way to the ancient ruins of Argynvostholt. Once home to the Order of the Silver Dragon, the mansion has become host to the restless dead. Once the party set foot inside, up the road came a handsome young man named Escher who claimed to be knowledgeable of the ruins and offered to guide them through. The party invited him in and they set to exploring the mansion.
Inside they discovered the restless spirits of Vladamir Hornguard and the other captains of the order that now haunt Argynvosthost since their final defeat at the hands of Strahd von Zarovich. Vladamir, it seemed was in possession of the final piece the party needed to defeat Strahd, The Sunsword. however he would not give it up willingly. Through their exploration of Argynvostholt, the party discovered that only lighting the beacon on the tallest tower could free the knights' souls, Although he who lights the beacon would undergo a trial of heart, for only the brave and righteous may wield the sunsword. Lucian Felcrosse lit the beacon, proving he was worthy of the ancient weapon, while at the same time giving Barovia its first glimpse of the sun in a millennium.
As the clouds began to retake the sky, Escher revealed himself to be an ally to Strahd his jealousy of Aleksandra Kolyana led him to attack the party. However, he was defeated handily by the intrepid heroes and cast down the side of the mountain.
Now armed with the Sunsword, the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind, and knowledge of their enemy, the party is ready to face Strahd von Zarovich and defeat him...
Or perish in the attempt.
