Where Do Fortunes Lead? Report

General Summary

The party left the Vistani and Madame Eva and headed back to the crossroads where the creaking wood and hangman's noose sway in the damp wind. As they explored the graves and dug up the coffins, they came across one gravestone that looked familiar. Recalling ancient or unused languages, one of them manage to read it: Thalia. They dig up the grave and find the hilt of a magic sword.   They pick their way up a narrow path to the top of Tser Falls and continue on the road test towards their goal -- Vallaki. As they walk the lonely road which bent northwest they see an old slumped windmill which feels familiar and foreboding to them. As the debate approaching it, a raven sits on the rusted bar that once held a sign and caws loudly, and then flies in the direction of Vallaki. Taking a cue from the bird, they decide to head towards Vallaki themselves.   The town guard were reluctant to allow the party entry into the town but Ireena steps forward and presses her claim that she is the Burgomaster's daughter from Barovia in need of help and the guards relent, allowing the party into the town's walls. As they pass a circus wagon in some paddocks they notice the warm and sound from an inn in the center of town. This is the Blue Water Inn. Inside, they discuss lodging with the proprietor Martinov and eye some of the local wolf hunters and a curious bard named Rictavio.   Martinov whispers to one of them that he will give them what they seek if they help him. He tells them about the town's strange festivals and how his wine shipments are becoming a dire problem.   The party heads to the Wizard of Wines, the winemaker that sells all of the wine in the surrounding area and, as they approach, they see a hooded figure beckoning them.
